About the Owner
Gaute is a Master Builder and Owner of Custom Remodeling Services LLC. Born and raised in the picturesque town of Kvinesdal, Norway, Gaute embodies a rich heritage of craftsmanship and dedication.
His early life was steeped in the art of building. The homes he lived in were lovingly constructed by his father and grandfather, instilling in him a deep appreciation for quality and tradition. His dad had him "working" alongside him at the age of 3, building the house he grew up in. During a recent renovation, a conspicuous row of nails in the Master Bath was evidence of his workmanship as that proud 3-year-old.
After completing High School, Bible School, and a two-year Community service program among drug addicts and alcoholics, Gaute committed himself to a rigorous 4-year Construction Apprenticeship in Norway, combining hands-on training under a Master Builder with Building Science Theory.
In 2008, Gaute relocated from Oslo, Norway to Concord, North Carolina. Since then, with a stellar reputation built on the principles of his trade, Gaute has been building a company that focuses on a custom solution for each customer's need. The application of High-performance Building Science is incorporated into the projects to maximize the usefulness of improvements to the customers.
Gaute brings the ability to value engineer a 2x4 beyond its common use as just a 2x4. His building passion is High-performance Building Science and efficient design, where value is maximized and waste is minimized. Using common building products readily available at any lumber yard without necessarily venturing into excessively expensive "Green" building products. Let's discuss how!
